NASCAR starting grid for The Roval at Charlotte Motor Speedway
Tomorrow, they’ll take the green flag in Charlotte, North Carolina. Today, NASCAR Cup Series driver roll to the track for a round of practice and qualifying to set the starting lineup for the playoff elimination race on the Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course.

Kyle Larson slammed the outside wall during practice. The crew is unloading a backup and Larson will not take part in qualifying.
The field is split into two groups for the opening round of qualifying. The top 5 from each group advance into round two and make another run for the pole position.

Denny Hamlin spun late in round 2 of qualifying. He jumped the curbs while sideways in the backstretch chicane, the car might have damage.
The red flag was put out to pause the session. However, with under a minute remaining, NASCAR called the session over.
Tyler Reddick will start from the pole position. He turned a laptime at 81.214 seconds.
