Front Row Motorsports moves alliance to Team Penske in 2024

Team details the benefits of an alliance in the NASCAR Cup Series

Front Row Motorsports is one of the smaller teams on the NASCAR Cup Series grid. They field two full-time entries with the No. 34 driven by Michael McDowell and the No. 38 driven by Todd Gilliland.

For the last several seasons, Front Row Motorsports has had an alliance with RFK Racing. For 2024, their alliance will instead be with Team Penske.

Team Penske claimed the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series championship with Ryan Blaney. The team collected four race wins in 2024.

They also claimed it the year prior with Joey Logano.

RFK recently went through a restructuring when Brad Keselowski came into the team as a new co-owner. They picked up three wins in the 2023 season.

Frotn Row Motorsports comments on the new technical alliance with Team Penske

“We’re shifting into a new technical alliance with Penske this year,” Travis Peterson of Front Row Motorsports stated via Sirius XM NASCAR Radio.

“The smaller teams kinda have to do things like that to survive. We don’t have the big engineering departments.”

“A lot of the technical alliance is just getting support for your simulation tools. Or processes to measure parts. We’ve kind of always done that, with RFK for a long time.”

“We’re still in the middle of working out the details of the new one. But, the gist is that you don’t have 20 engineers at the shop providing information at our place.”

He concluded, “So, you kinda go be aligned with a team that does have that and just use their information.”
