Hendrick Motorsports and longtime NASCAR sponsor Hooters are parting ways
Hooters and Hendrick Motorsports have been partners for 8 years. Today, that deal comes to an early end.
Hooters has served as a primary sponsor for Chase Elliott and the No. 9 team.
This season, Hooters would have served as the primary sponsor of the No. 9 team in three races. Two of those races have already taken place at Atlanta Motor Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway.
They still had one primary sponsor race on the schedule, Richmond Raceway. However, the Hooters paint scheme will not be at the track as the deal has been terminated early.
Originally, the deal with Hooters was expected to last through the end of the 2024 season.
Hooters also served as an associate sponsor in all races throughout 2024. However, the decals were removed from Elliott’s machine during last weekend’s race at Nashville Superspeedway.
Hooters has been in the news recently following a string of closures. 40 of their restaurants have closed their doors.
Hendrick Motorsports statement
“Hooters has been a valued partner of Hendrick Motorsports since 2017, contributing to our shared successes both on and off the track,” Hendrick Motorsports opened in a statement reported by Kelly Crandall.
“In recent months, however, Hooters has not been able to meet its business obligations to our organization. Due to these unfortunate and unexpected circumstances, and despite extensive efforts on both sides to identify a workable solution, it became necessary for Hendrick Motorsports to end the relationship.”
The team concluded, “It has been a privilege having Hooters as a part of our team and we wish them the best.”
