Watch as Corey LaJoie takes flight in the NASCAR race at Michigan International Speedway

On Monday, NASCAR raced at Michigan International Speedway. The rare Monday appearance was caused from Sunday’s rain shower.

On lap 136 of 200, Corey LaJoie was in a battle with Noah Gragson. He looked under him off turn two. Light contact was made between LaJoie’s right front and Gragson’s left rear.

LaJoie was turned left down the back stretch. As soon as the car got sideways, it began lifting off the ground.

The car landed on it’s roof. He slid the full length of the backstretch, on his roof. When he met the infield grass, the car was sent into violent flips.

“There’s been so much time spent on this to prevent it from happened. Obviously, more work to do,” Jeff Burton stated from the NBC Sports booth.

Corey LaJoie comments

LaJoie was checked at the infield care center and quickly released.

“That’s just about the way the year’s gone,” Corey LaJoie stated.

“You know, we have a good car and I find a way to flip upside down. That’s twice this year we’ve been upside down. And, I haven’t been upside down in my whole career. That’s just the way unfortunately our year’s been.”

“The No. 10 chopped me a couple times off two when I had a run. It was a ride buddy. There was sparks and all sorts of stuff coming in.”

“Safe cars. Kudos to NASCAR for building safe cars.”

LaJoie is currently searching for a ride in 2025. He’ll depart Spire Motorsports at the end of this season.
