Race Report
Green flag, McLaughlin gets the jump and he’s clear into turn one.
Lap 48, McLaughlin works heavy lap traffic. Linus Lundqvist has closed right to his wing and we have a battle for the lead.
Lap 49, Lundqvist dives inside of McLaughlin into turn one. McLaughlin is boxed in behind a lap car, Lundqvist to the lead.
Lap 69, the first pit cycle is complete. O’Ward leads Herta as both of those cars pitted several laps ahead of Lundqvist and McLaughlin. McLaughlin runs 3rd, 8 seconds back of O’Ward.
Lap 72, Newgarden wiggles off turn two and brushes the wall slightly. No caution but the car might have damage.
Lap 87
Lap 87, the caution is out.
Most of the field dives for the pit lane. McLaughlin stays out and takes over the race lead.
Green, Sting Ray Robb looks inside of McLaughlin into turn one. McLaughlin holds the lead off turn two.
Lap 114, O’Ward to 2nd. McLaughlin leads by 0.6 seconds as he slices lap traffic.
Lap 119, O’Ward is on the gearbox of McLaughlin. He looks inside into turn one, O’Ward to the lead as he has 20 laps fresher tires.
Lap 143, another green flag pit cycle is complete. O’Ward holds the lead as Newgarden trails by 5 seconds.
Lap 147
Lap 147, Ericsson looks under Newgarden in the battle for 2nd. They bang wheels in a fight for space! Both cars spin and tag the outside wall. The caution is out.
Green, O’Ward leads Palou into turn one.
Lap 185, green flag stops are underway.
Lap 187, the caution is out! Colton Herta lost the left front wheel and it rolled onto the track. Will Power leads but he’s yet to pit along with Daly and others.
Power and the rest of the cars that have yet to pit dive for the pit lane. O’Ward cycles to the race lead.

Green, O’Ward leads Ferrucci and Power into turn one.
45 to go, Romain Grosjean bangs wheels as they run three wide. Grosjean pits under green with a broken steering.
30 to go, O’Ward leads Ferrucci by 1.5 seconds.
28 to go, Power looks inside of Ferrucci. They might have made contact as Power takes 2nd. Ferrucci loses momentum and Daly takes over 3rd.
14 to go, O’Ward works heavy lap traffic. Power trails by just 0.4 seconds.
5 to go, O’Ward opens the gap.
