Indycar results from race 2 at The Milwaukee Mile
Indycar Series drivers have returned to the grid in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Milwaukee Mile is set to host the second race in the double-header weekend.

Alex Palou has stalled under the pace laps. However, due to the number of laps turned already, pace laps are now counting and the race has started under the yellow. Palou is going laps down as he’s pushed to the pit lane. Palou is the point leader, this has major championship implications.
Josef Newgarden and Scott McLaughlin set the front row. 250 laps of open wheel racing are up next…
Milwaukee Mile
Race Report
The start is waved off at the last second. Some didn’t get the message. Linus Lundqvist drives into the back of Marcus Armstrong. Armstrong is shoved into pole sitter Newgarden and Newgarden is spun into the inside wall.
Green, McLaughlin leads Power into turn one on the single file restart.
Lap 44, McLaughlin works heavy lap traffic and Power is on his bumper. Power has a run into turn three, he dives inside, Power to the lead.
Lap 60, the first pit cycle is complete. Power leads Rossi by 2.2 seconds.
Lap 63, David Malukas slows with an issue and the caution is out. Conor Daly is on the pit lane with a mechanical issue.
Green, Power leads McLaughlin.
Lap 90
Lap 90, Pato O’Ward is on the pit lane with the engine cover removed. The crew is attempting to solve a mechanical issue. O’Ward climbs from the car.
Lap 102, another pit cycle is complete. Power leads McLaughlin by 0.5 seconds.
Lap 115, the caution is out as Sting Ray Robb wiggles and spins off turn two.
Power leads the leaders to the pit lane. McLaughlin wins the race to the pit exit. Rossi and Dixon stay out.
Green, Rossi leads Dixon into turn one but there’s a lap car between them. Christian Rassmussen gets into the back of Graham Rahal. Rahal is in the turn three wall, caution.
Green, Will Power spins the tires and the car is around at the launch! The caution is back out.
Green, Rossi leads Dixon and McLaughlin.
Lap 162
Lap 162, Rossi leads but as he works heavy traffic, McLaughlin has climbed to his bumper. Rossi dives for the pit lane as another pit cycle is underway.
Lap 175, Colton Herta has yet to pit. He’s trying to make this a long stint and pit just one more time.
Lap 187, Herta heads for the pit for what he hopes will be the final stop. McLaughlin cycles to the lead, Rossi trails by 2 seconds. Mclaughlin takes the lead away from Rossi during the cycle.
Lap 199
Lap 199, McLaughlin pits for the final time. Herta leads McLaughlin by 8 seconds.
Lap 212, McLaughlin has closed to within a car length of Herta in the battle for the lead. McLaughlin has much fresher tires.
Lap 215, McLaughlin runs wide in turn one. He builds momentum and crosses under off turn three. McLaughlin clears him but Herta is hard on the gas and he pulls even on the outside lane off turn four! Herta holds him off as they return to turn one.
Lap 218, McLaughlin works inside of Herta into turn one. McLaughlin crowds him and Herta is forced to lift. McLaughlin to the lead.
22 to go, Sting Ray Robb is in the wall and the caution is out.
McLaughlin and the rest of the leaders head for the pit lane. Will Power is now back on the lead lap.
Green with 11 to go, McLaughlin leads Rossi and Dixon into turn one. Dixon dives inside of Rossi for 2nd. Herta follows him through. Herta looks inside of Dixon into turn three but he can’t complete the pass.
10 to go, McLaughlin leads Dixon by 1 second.
5 to go, McLaughlin leads Dixon by 0.6 seconds.
