Daniel Hemric shoved Austin Dillon hard into the wall during the NASCAR race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
On Sunday, Las Vegas Motor Speedway is hosting the opening race in the Round of 8 for the NASCAR Playoffs. And, there’s trouble early…
On lap 64 of 267, Austin Dillon and Daniel Hemric were 1 lap down from the leaders and in a battle for 27th. It all went wrong.
Heading into turn three, Hemric drove it deep into the corner and tagged Dillon square in the rear bumper. Dillon was sent up the track and violently made contact with the outside wall.
Hemric indicated on the team radio that he wasn’t which lane Dillon was going to as they entered the corner.
“I’m alright,” Dillon quickly stated over the team radio.
Dillon climbed from his mangled machine and pointed at Hemric as he drove by under caution.
Austin Dillon comments
“I’m okay. He just flat out wrecked me,” Austin Dillon told NBC Sports after exiting the infield care center.
“No clue why. He’s got three races left and I don’t know if he was just over his head.”
“I mean, he stayed in the gas into three until he hits me. So, I don’t know what that was.”
Since publishing, the race has concluded.
