Trackhouse Racing co-owner announces departure from the NASCAR team
Trackhouse Racing was founded in 2020 and they made their NASCAR Cup Series debut in 2021. They now field three full-time cars with drivers Ross Chastain, Shane van Gisbergen and Daniel Suarez.
In January 2021, Armando Christian Pérez (Pitbull) announced that he joined the team as part of the ownership group.
Pitbull joins NASCAR as team owner
Today, just days ahead of the biggest race of the season, he announced that he’s departing the team. He posted a brief statement:

“Ending partnership with Trackhouse Racing,” Pitbull opened via X.
“Over the past five years, we’ve made history by introducing NASCAR to a whole new audience and falling in love with NASCAR fans at the same time. We have made the decision to terminate the partnership with Trackhouse Racing, effective immediately.”
“We’re looking forward to performing on the sport’s biggest stage this Sunday, the Daytona 500. It is a true honor, Dale!”
Trackhouse Racing comments
The team stated, “We’re honored and humbled that Pitbull has chosen to take this journey with Trackhouse. Thank you for all you’ve done and good luck on your next venture! DALE!!!”
Justin Marks comments
“This is a great business story,” team co-owner Justin Marks stated.
“Armando came in when we had no certainty of any material success and took a chance to help build a brand. Now that we’ve scaled up and have new partners, he’s been able to be rewarded for the impact he’s made.”
He concluded, “A great investment on both ends. Excited to see what he does next! DALE!”
Last year, it was rumored that Pitbull sold his stake in the team.
