NASCAR fan climbs fence onto NASCAR track during race (Video)

“I think he’s wasted. I didn’t even understand what he was saying.”

On Saturday, the NASCAR O’Reilly Series took the green flag in San Diego, California. It’s the debut race weekend on the new 3.4-mile temporary circuit through Naval Base Coronado.

On lap 35, there was a massive 23 car crash. It saw Sam Mayer and Anthony Alfredo both slam the concrete barriers.

Due to the impact, the roughly 4,000 lbs barriers were pushed back several feet. NASCAR elected to through the red flag and take the time to fix the track.

During the red flag, a fan jumped the fence and ran up to the car of Sheldon Creed. As he was parked with the engine off, the fan stuck his head into the window to share a message.

But, the driver isn’t sure what that message was…

Sheldon Creed stated over the radio, “I think he’s wasted. I didn’t even understand what he was saying.”

The fan then ran across the track. He climbed the fencing, in flip flops. He then blended back into the crowd, minus one flip flop that he lost climbing the fence.

Again, this race is being hosted on a military base. I can say with 1000% certainty, this fan will be apprehended by the time this is published.

The race has since resumed.
