NASCAR fan climbs fence at Bristol All-Star Race (Video)

Hear from the man who climbed the fence at Bristol Motor Speedway

Last Wednesday, Bristol Motor Speedway hosted the NASCAR All-Star event. The half-mile track is located in Bristol, Tennessee.

Fans were allowed to return to the track. It marked the first time fans were allowed in numbers larger than 5,000.

Official numbers of crowd attendance haven’t been released. However, ahead of the race, the speedway stated they expected between 20,000-30,000 to attend the night race.

Once again, the fans were a part of the show. They boo’d Bubba Wallace during intro’s to the All-Star Open and later cheered when he slammed the wall.

But, in the end, Chase Elliott drove to victory lane. The driver is the newest Most Popular Driver in the sport. Elliott won the award in 2018 and 2019 after Dale Earnhardt Jr previously won it 15 years in a row.

One fan couldn’t contain his excitement. So, he elevated it up the fence.

So, why did the man climb the fence?

The fan explained in a video, “Chase Elliott won! I love Chase Elliott #9!”

The man appears to have gotten away with it. Though, it was after the race was already concluded.

Previous incidents of fans climbing the fence during NASCAR events have resulted in arrests. However, in those previous cases, they took place during on-track action.
