This stunt during the NASCAR race on the Charlotte ROVAL isn’t recommend
During Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race on the Charlotte ROVAL, there were reports of a fan running on the track. However, the man was not located.
Watch the video of the NASCAR fan run onto the track below.
Those reports have since been confirmed. It’s also been acknowledged by a NASCAR Xfinity Series driver who was watching the race as well.
Driver Noah Gragson tweeted after the race, “Anyone just see that fan hop the fence and run on track in turn 7.”
Fans have climbed the safety fence during races, multiple times. Sometimes those scenarios have brought caution flags, other times not. They’ve also been known to cause criminal charges.
Tik Tok user @dpwildn uploaded a video of the scene from the ROVAL. That video was soon deleted as charges could be filed for this type of thing.
In the video below, the fan jumped the fence in turn 7. He then hung onto the fence and waited for the field to pace by under caution.
Once the field ran by, the fan jumped down on the danger side of the fence. He then took it a step further by running onto the race track.
AMR Safety trucks saw the man. The truck came to a stop just in front of the fan. However, the man ran around the truck then back toward the fence.
He then leaped over the fence in spectacular fashion. The spectacular part is strickly from a viewers standpoint as he actually flipped over the fence and landed face first into the earth.
Yet, the man jumped up and ran away. Police officers and security were seen in a huddle shortly after as they tried to figure out what happened.
NASCAR was forced to add an additionally lap under caution, delaying the restart.
A second part of the video shows the same fan entering the banking side of the race track later in the night. In a separate scene, he slid down the banking on his ass.
