New record for the fastest pit stop in NASCAR history (Video)

Watch the video as they changed four tires in 8.02 seconds during a pit stop at Charlotte Motor Speedway

On Sunday, Charlotte Motor Speedway hosted the NASCAR Cup Series. The Coca-Cola 600 is NASCAR’s longest race and during the race, the record was set for the fastest four-tire pit stop ever.

The No. 11 crew for Denny Hamlin now hold the record. The four tire stop, with fueling was completed in 8.02 seconds.

Due to how quick the stop was, the team put less gas in the tank. That meant their next stop had to be slightly longer to fill the tank.

It didn’t play out that way.

In what was suppose to be the final pit stop of the race, the fuel jug suffered an issue. Without enough fuel, Hamlin was forced to pit again before the end of the race, ending his chance at a win.
