Earlier today, Kyle Larson ran the Indy 500 in Indiana. A jet plane and a helicopter ride later, he’s on the grounds in North Carolina for tonight’s 600-mile race.

Race Report – Stage 1
Laps: 100 (1-100 / 400)
Green flag, Briscoe gets the jump and he leads Larson off turn two. Larson moves to the outside of Briscoe into turn three. Larson leads lap 1.
Lap 2, William Byron makes it three wide for the lead into turn three. Byron to the lead!
Lap 9, Larson has a run on Byron into turn three. Larson slides him and takes the lead off turn four.
Lap 38, Larson gets loose and brushes the outside wall. He still leads Byron by 0.5 seconds.
Lap 43, Larson spins from the lead off turn four! The caution is out.
Green, Byron clears Reddick into turn one. Chris Buescher takes over 2nd off turn two.
3 to go in stage one, Alex Bowman gets loose and tags the wall off four. He rides through the infield grass and the caution is out.
William Byron wins stage two as the stage finishes under the yellow.

The crew of Larson has the hood up to repair suspension damage.
Green flag on stage two, Byron and Reddick run side by side into turn one. A lap later, Byron holds him off to keep the race lead.
Lap 111, Jimmie Johnson gets loose and bounces off the outside wall. Connor Zilisch is collected and the caution is out.
Green, Byron clears Reddick via the inside lane.
Lap 161, the green flag pit cycle is complete. Byron leads Reddick by 6 seconds.

Green flag on stage three, Byron and Hamlin run side by side for the lead. Byron sidedrafts Hamlin into turn three and dives to the bottom. Byron clears him to hold the lead.
Lap 238, Zane Smith spins off turn two and he slams the inside wall. The caution is out.
Green, Byron clears Hamlin off turn four to hold the race lead.
Lap 246, Suarez, Briscoe and Blaney run three wide off turn four. They’re out of room and all three bang doors. Suarez spins across the track collecting Kyle Larson and Justin Haley. The caution is out.
Green, Hamlin pinches down on Byron into turn one. Byron fights back and holds the lead into turn three.
Lap 262, Hamlin works the inside lane. He clears Byron to take the lead away.
Lap 290, Byron works all over the bumper of Hamlin in the battle for the lead. Byron side drafts off turn four and he has a run into turn one. Byron drives it deep into the corner and retakes the lead.

Byron leads the field to the pit lane. Hamlin wins the race to the pit exit. Byron is off 3rd as Hocevar also beat him to the pit exit.
Green flag on stage four, Hocevar blows an engine from the front row! Chris Buescher is collected as Hocevar slows in front of the field. The caution is out.
Green, Byron clears Hamlin into turn one.
Lap 327, Hamlin works the inside on Byron off turn four. The rub doors into turn one. Hamlin drives it deep and slides him to take the lead away.
Lap 332, Hamlin is caught in lap traffic. Byron has a run and he pulls alongside into turn one. Byron completes the pass into turn three and reclaims the lead.
38 to go
38 to go, the green flag pit cycle is complete. Byron leads Hamlin by 2 seconds.
Tyler Reddick gets sideways and slams the wall just ahead of the leader. No caution as Byron was almost collected.
24 to go, Ross Chastain takes 2nd away. Denny Hamlin is now saving fuel after a fueling issue on the last pit stop.
18 to go, Chastain is closing on Byron.
15 to go, Byron throws a block on Chastain into turn one!
12 to go, Hamlin heads to the pit lane as he’s out of fuel.

6 to go, Chastain drives it deep to the bottom into turn one. He slides Byron for the lead. Byron brushes the wall and Chastain takes the lead away!
1 to go, Chastain leads Byron by 2 car lengths. Byron brushes the wall off turn two.
