Race Report
Green flag, Foster is clear before turn one as they form three wide for 2nd. Scott McLaughlin drives it deep on the outside into turn one and he pulls even with Foster. Foster clears him to hold the lead.
David Malukas is off track and in the sand. The caution is out.
Green, Foster leads McLaughlin and Kirkwood. McLaughlin has a run into turn one. He works to the outside and completes the pass for the race lead.
Lap 4, Robert Shwartzman spins on his own under braking and finds the tire barrier, caution.
Green, McLaughlin leads Foster into turn one.
Lap 10
Lap 10, Sting Ray Robb gets sideways under braking. He’s off track and he slams the concrete wall. The caution is out.
McLaughlin leads most of the field to the pit lane. Lundgaard wins the race to the pit exit but he’ll restart 8th. Scott Dixon and 7 others stay out.
Green, Dixon leads O’Ward into turn one.
Lap 21, Dixon heads for the pit lane.
Lap 22, Conor Daly is stuck in the sand, caution.
Most of the field dives for the pit lane under yellow. Palou wins the race to the pit exit. Lundgaard cycles to the race lead. Dixon restarts 7th
Green, Lundgaard leads Kirkwood. Kirkwood drives it deep on the outside into turn one. Kirkwood runs wide and Lundgaard retakes the lead with two wheels off in the grass.
28 to go, Lundgaard heads for the pit lane under green. Will Power is off track, no caution.
27 to go, Kirkwood and Armstrong head for the pit lane. Dixon cycles to the race lead.
25 to go
25 to go, Josef Newgarden spins on his own off turn 14 and he finds the tire barrier. Heavy damage for Newgarden and the caution is out.
Green, Dixon leads Rossi and Palou into turn one.
21 to go, Lundgaard and Herta fight for space. Lundgaard runs wide, finds bumps and he spins across the track, no caution.
17 to go, Dixon pits from the race lead. He’s been saving fuel but he might need a caution to make it to the end from here.
11 to go, Dixon leads Palou and Rossi. Dixon is attempting to make it to the end. Palou pitted two laps later than Dixon and he has a better chance of making it to the finish.
6 to go, Dixon leads Palou by 1.2 seconds. Rosenqvist is now 3rd, 5 seconds back.
2 to go, Dixon dives to the pit lane for a splash of fuel. Palou stays out and he leads Rosenqvist by 3 seconds.
1 to go, Palou drives by the pit lane and he’s attempting to make it to the finish on low fuel.
