Layne Riggs will not be permitted to qualify

NASCAR Truck Series drivers are set for the green flag today in Talladega, Alabama. The 2.5-mile of Talladega Superspeedway is set to host the first of three races remaining in the 2025 season.
NASCAR Truck Series drivers were lined up on the pit lane and ready to take to the track for qualifying to set the starting grid. Officials told the team of Layne Riggs to pull their truck out of line.
Riggs then walked back to the garage area.
According to reports, NASCAR witnessed a teammate standing on the nose of Layne Riggs machine. NASCAR declared that an unapproved adjustment.
Riggs will start today’s race from the rear of the field as he’s not permitted to make a qualifying lap.

The biggest part of this penalty will come next week. Pit selection is determined by qualifying results from the following week. Riggs will have a terrible pit stall at Martinsville Speedway.
Riggs is one of 8 drivers remaining in the playoffs. Corey Heim is locked in with a win and only three more advance into the championship race.
