Here’s how much every driver earned from the NASCAR point fund in 2025
Kyle Larson held of Denny Hamlin and claimed the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series championship on Sunday at Phoenix Raceway. The marks his second career title after previously winning the championship in 2021.
For years, NASCAR earnings have been kept behind closed doors. However, recent court documents revealed details about NASCAR payouts.
The purse for winning the race was $12,394,135. We know that race winner Ryan Blaney collected 5.160% of the total race purse for a total of $639,537.
The point fund totals $33,712,000 and it’s distributed on a weighted basis across all 36 charter owners based on the finishing position in the owner’s championship.
For Kyle Larson, he collected the bigger bag. Rick Hendrick is the winner of the owner’s championship, the No. 5 car team owner earned $2,840,000 for the award.
As for how much of that $2.84M goes to Larson himself, that’s undisclosed in team/driver contracts.
The point funds will be distributed to the teams within 30 days per court documents. These payouts do not include the fixed owner’s plan or performance plan payments.
Other earnings:
Charter owners also collect a base pay of $141,000 per race or $5.358M per season on top of the point funds payment. For NASCAR, that’s over $182M in payouts to NASCAR teams owners in 2025.
