Kyle Larson addresses Denny Hamlin from the NASCAR Awards stage
On Sunday, NASCAR hosted the championship race on the 1-mile of Phoenix Raceway. Kyle Larson held off a charge from Denny Hamlin en route to his second title.
Before a late race caution, Denny Hamlin was leading by several seconds and driving away to a clear race win. It would have been his first career championship.
After the race, Larson noted that he wasn’t sure what to say to Hamlin when he sees him. However, from the championship stage, he addressed Hamlin.

Kyle Larson comments on Denny Hamlin
“Obviously, I got to have a special shout out to Denny,” Kyle Larson said from the stage.
“Nobody in this sport works harder or expects more out of themselves. Year after year he raises the bar and pushes his competitors to be better.”
“He holds himself to a true championship standard and I think everyone in this room has a ton of respect for that.”
