Elliott Sadler is set for a return to racing

The NASCAR Cup Series winner is making his first start since 2019

Elliott Sadler has run 438 NASCAR Cup Series races. He picked up three race wins with his last coming in 2001.

Since 2019, Sadler has not jumped behind the wheel, in any racecar. That changes next month.

The 50-year-old is set to drive the No. 16VA Pace-O-Matic Modified for Sadler-Stanley Racing. It will be his SMART Modified Tour debut.

The King of the Modifieds event will be run at his home track of South Boston Speedway on March 20-21.

In 1995, Sadler was crowned the late model champion at South Boston. He then climbed the racing ladder into the world of NASCAR.

The track is located in South Boston, Virginia. It’s a 0.4-mile bullring oval.

Elliott Sadler comments

Elliott Sadler commented, “Look DaleJr … you made me feel like I can do it !!! So I’m doing it !! Back in the saddle again !! Bigger (literally) and better than ever!!!”

Dale Earnhardt Jr regularly races in the late model stock division with the CARS Tour.

Sadler added, “Get the bologna burgers ready …. I’m coming home!!!”

Elliott Sadler ran his last NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race in 2019. He ended his full-time career with 13 wins in 397 starts.
