Messages from Steve O’Donnell surfaced in court bashing SRX; Tony Stewart isn’t looking for him, but if he sees him then…
Recently, NASCAR was in a lawsuit with 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports. That lawsuit has since been settled but damage was already done.
During the trial, messages surfaced from NASCAR executives as they spoke in private about SRX. The series formerly ran on short tracks. It was co-owned by Tony Stewart and the driver’s list was full of current and past NASCAR drivers.
That upset NASCAR as shown in the messages below.
Steve O’Donnell stated in the messages, “Actually, you have one of the voices of Fox in Waltrip, an owner of multiple cup cars in Stewart, our most popular driver for years and one of our champs fathers etc.”
“This is exhibit “A” that nobody gives a shit about what got them their careers. Pay em some money and they are all in. They guy who cried about safety every single day is in a box car without safer barriers and not a care in the world.”
“That’s the key – we need to have everyone understand that this could turn into LIV if we don’t play our cards right. We are smarter than they are – but part of the issue is they don’t have the facts and don’t seem to want to take the time to learn or maybe they just don’t care.”
O’Donnell added, “It’s all about the money and feeling like they have been heard and are respected.”

Tony Stewart isn’t pleased with the comments above
This weekend, Tony Stewart is making his return to NASCAR. He’s entered in the NASCAR Truck Series race, his first NASCAR event since 2016.
Stewart isn’t looking for Steve O’Donnell, but if he sees him then Stewart will have something to say…
“No, I have not had that pleasure yet,” Tony Stewart said on if he’s bumped into O’Donnell this weekend.
“Not at all. I’m going to do my deal. If I run into Steve O’Donnell, he’ll have to deal with that part. But, I’m going to go do me and I don’t really care what he does this week.”
One round of practice is in the books. Qualifying is set to begin shortly to set the lineup in Stewart’s return to NASCAR.
