World of Outlaws official killed in incident at Kennedale Speedway Park

Two safety vehicles collided at the Texas dirt track

The World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series visited Kennedale Speedway Park this weekend for the Cowtown Classic. Saturday night would was set for the finale of the event at the Kennedale, TX facility.

Tragically, while responding to an incident, two safety vehicles collided. The crash resulted in one death and one serious injury.

The World Racing Group has have postponed the event.

They stated on Saturday night, “Tonight’s event at Kennedale Speedway Park has been postponed due to a medical emergency.”

World of Outlaws Statement

The series issued the following statement on Sunday morning:

“While officials were responding to an incident at Kennedale Speedway Park Saturday night, two emergency vehicles collided, resulting in a serious injury to one official and a fatal injury to another,” the series opened.

“There is an ongoing investigation of the incident. The remainder of the event was postponed.”

They concluded, “Everybody in the racing community, and those affected, appreciates your thoughts and prayers.”

Driver/team comments

Carson Macedo comments, “Please keep the World of Outlaws family in your thoughts and prayers after last night’s horrible incident. Praying hard for the officials, their families, and everyone involved.”

Stenhouse Jr / Marshall Racing stated, “Our hearts are with the families, friends, and racing community during this heartbreaking time.”
