Kyle Larson is a two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion (2021, 2025). Carson Hocevar is currently in his third full-time season and he picked up his first career win earlier this season at Talladega Superspeedway.
23-year-old Hocevar is going to be around for a long time. He’s fast, he’s built a large fan base and more importantly for longevity, a lot of fans hate him.
The driver has made a habit of making other drivers mad leading to near weekly post-race confrontations. As a result of this aggression, he’s been compared to Dale Earnhardt.
But, off-track he couldn’t be any more different than Earnhardt…
Hocevar engages in weekly streams from his house or even his bus at the racetrack. As he races on iRacing, a cam is setup with a live chat for fans to chime in. He adds a bullhorn for entertainment purposes. It’s random as hell.

“Hocevar, honestly, I respect his talent,” Kyle Larson said via the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast.
“I think he’s extremely, extremely good and fast. I like his aggressiveness, even, but I would say it goes overboard a lot of the time.”
“He’s phenomenal. He outruns his teammates by a lot every week. He’s really good. He’s going to be around for a long time, and he’s going to win a lot of races.”
“I think once he definitely harnesses himself some and kinda dials back that aggression a little bit and manages a race better, I think he can win multiple races a year, and he’s close to that. He’s definitely gotten better over the last couple of years.”
“For me, he’s young, but he’s more immature than what his age is. I have his little Twitch stream thing pop up on my Instagram feed every now and then, and I’m like, ‘Dude, this guy is like an 8-year-old.’ “

For Sunday’s race at Sonoma Raceway, Carson Hocevar put it on the front row. He took to X, trolling the comments from Larson…
Carson Hocevar commented, “they fr let an 8 year old qualify on the front row.”
The NASCAR Cup Series takes the green flag later today in Sonoma, California. Hocevar is in search of his second career victory.
