Bubba Wallace isn’t going to let drivers run him over
All year, NASCAR Cup Series drivers have been complaining about the way they are raced by Carson Hocevar. On Saturday night, Ryan Blaney and Carson Hocevar tangled while racing for 2nd.
Blaney volunteered to be the first one to do something. He walked up to Hocevar after the race and grabbed him by his suit.
Hocevar responded immediately with two punches. After being pushed to the ground, Blaney was able to get up and run back up to him and get in one punch of his own.

Bubba Wallace was surprised that Blaney went up to him. But, he was happy that someone actually did something.
Wallace also referenced a similar incident between him and Larson. Back in 2022, Wallace and Larson made contact at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Wallace responded by hooking Larson in the left rear, crashing them both.

“Yeah, it was surprising,” Bubba Wallace opened in a conversation with Jeff Gluck.
“I was late to seeing the wreck. I was just sitting there thinking, ‘Boy, he’s going to be pissed. I can’t wait to hear about what he’s going to say to Carson or what he’s going to do to Carson and then not do it.’ “
“Was I wrong! Holy cow.”
“I was surprised that he went up to him and how that all unfolded. It was funny how he ate two punches. He ate them, they didn’t look very hard.”
“But, he admitted that he got his (expletive) kicked. But, he came back and I think he got a swing in. So, it was entertaining.”
“Good on him for being the one to actually do something, try and do something about it.”

“If I see somebody that continues to get run over and they do nothing about it
“Well, when it’s my turn to, you know, be aggressive and get by this guy on a green-white-checker then I’m going to use him up. Because he’s not going to do anything about it.”
“And so, I don’t want that message to come across, from my camp. You know, me as a driver, my team, that I’m gonna let anybody run us over, ruin our race just because the hell of it.”
“No, that’s not gonna happen. There’s gonna be consequences and repercussions. Whether it’s on my side or not.”
“I don’t justify anything I’ve done at Vegas to Larson. But, that was the last time I’ve been put in the fence running competitively inside the top five.”

“So, people are still gonna hate me for that. And, that’s okay. Cause at the end of the day, I’m sticking up for my team and how we were disrespected in that moment.”
He concluded, “I haven’t been disrespected since.”
