Jeff Gordon and Kyle Busch were the only Championship 4 drivers to crack the top 5. Jeff Gordon did it with an extra lap on his tires compared to the other drivers in the top 5.

The other two NASCAR Championship 4 drivers Martin Truex Jr and Kevin Harvick will start outside the top 10. Martin truex Jr will start 11th and Kevin Harvick with start 13th despite being the fastest car in round 1 of qualifying.
Matt Kenseth returns for the first time since his incident with Joey Logano at Martinsville Speedway. Matt Kenseth will start 19th on his first race back after his 2 race suspension.
