The incident took place in heat race number 2. Early in the race Earl Pearson Jr caught a rut at the entrance of turn 1. His car lifted.

It’s possible Earl might have made contact with another car soon after that. Either way, his dirt late model was sent into a barrel roll through the middle of turns 1-2.

It was a scary accident, though he did walk away. He never stepped into the ambulance. Once carried away, the #1 dirt late model left an in-print of a carburetor in the track surface.

Unfortunately, he pulled off early in the main. he finished 24th.Earl Pearson Jr was 6th in Lucas Oil Late Model points heading into LaSalle Speedway. He was able to maintain his position in points, despite the bad night at LaSalle.
