Exiting the infield care center, Gaughan spoke with Parker Kligerman (the reporter version), “I mean, we had a decent South Point Chevy. We were gunna sit there in the top 14, top 12 for most of the first part.”
“We had the loose wheel. It’s just racing man. That happens. But you know, 2 weeks in a row.

But, right now I’m gunna knock the hell out of him.

“I know he doesn’t have that many races and I like him a lot [Jeb Burton] normally. But, right now I’m gunna knock the hell out of him.”
“The first time he gave me a flat. The 2nd time, he says he blew a tire. But if you know you got a tire going down, then don’t drive underneath somebody. The last couple weeks I’ve been drivin with no respect.”
Last week at Mid-Ohio, Brendan Gaughan was shoved off the track will racing for the lead. That happened in the closing laps. He went on to finish 7th.
Tonight, at Bristol Motor Speedway, he finished in the garage. A 30th place finish.
Road America drives a lot like a short track. Is Gaughan planning to take out some frustration next week?
Gaughan concludes, “We go to Road America, we’re gunna win that sucker. I’m gunna go fast, I’m gunna win it and stay in front of everybody, not have to lay a fender on nothing.”
Jeb Burton
Jeb Burton tells his side of the story, “I didn’t mean to get into him. I just got tight. I ran him down from a straight away. Me and Brendan raced really hard together. But, I’m doing all I can. This is my last race.
“I didn’t mean to get into him, that’s the last thing I wanna do. But, you know, he never lets anybody go. He’s mad I got into him on accident. Center off, I got tight, he came down. It was a Bristol deal.”
“The second time, I just blow a right front.”
Have they talked?
Jeb Burton, “I talked to him in the media center. He knows I didn’t mean to get into him. If his tire didn’t go down, he’d a never said a word to me about it.
