Steve Letarte ran his last race with Dale Earnhardt Jr

“I never really thought about what that would be like until Steve [Letarte] ran his last race with me at Homestead. He was cool as a cucumber, all weekend. At least in front of everybody, me and the guys.”

“Every race, he’d lean in the car. We’d say a few words about, ‘Have a good day. I’m here with you. We’re gunna work together.’ All these things that you like your crew chief to say.”
