Speedway owners mourn daughter lost in Las Vegas Shooting

Bailey Schweitzer, family runs Bakersfield Speedway

20-year-old Bailey Schweitzer was one of the 59 victims of the Las Vegas Shooting. Scott Schweitzer and his wife Crissy, run Bakersfield Speedway.

Bailey Schweitzer didn’t work full-time at the track. She did work there often. Her day job, Bailey was an Infinity Communications receptionist.

“But that was only her official title,” said Amie Campbell to Bakersfield.com, who hired Schweitzer. “She was everything to us.”

Bailey Schweitzer comes from a racing family. Her parents own the track, her brothers race. Naturally, she worked frequently at the race track.

Bakersfield Speedway is a 1/3 mile dirt track. It’s labeled as a ‘semi banked clay oval’ located in Bakersfield, CA.

“It will definitely be hard going back for the next race,” Bakersfield Speedway employee Doug Rhine told Bakersfield.com.

“There’s so much evil and anger and frustration and it seems it’s becoming even worse,” her boss Fred Brakeman stated. “She just happened to be on the receiving end of that evil.”

On Monday night, family and friends gathered under candlelight to mourn the loss of Bailey Schweitzer.
