Dunn Benson Motorsports and Earl Pearson Jr Part Ways, 2018 Plans to be Announced Soon
Earl Pearson Jr will not join Dunn-Benson Motorsports in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series come the 2018 racing season. Pearson joined the team in 2015.

Dunn, NC – Earl Pearson Jr. and the Dunn Benson Motorsports Team have agreed to part ways for 2018. Earl notified Carlton and Kemp Lamm last week that he has decided to do something else next year and will not return as the driver of the Dunn Benson Motorsports #1 racecar. Earl and the Dunn Benson Motorsports Team won 3 races together and finished 7th in the final Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series national point standings in 2017.
“We’ve had a great relationship with Earl for 17 years now and we will still be great friends going forward. We have won a lot of races together including the World 100 and Three National Championships over the years we’ve been together. We wish him the best on his new endeavor, but at the same time we are very excited about our plans for 2018 for the Dunn Benson Motorsports Team”, stated Carlton and Kemp Lamm owners of Dunn Benson Ford and Dunn Benson Motorsports.

Carlton and Kemp Lamm and the Dunn Benson Motorsports Team are currently making plans for the 2018 season. As details get finalized, the Dunn Benson Motorsports Team will hopefully announce a driver, sponsor, racing series and full details about the Team very soon.

Earl Pearson Jr has won the LOLMDS championship 4 times. He claimed the national late model title in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008.
Earl Pearson Jr picked up two Lucas Oil Dirt Series wins in 2017. He first came on Mar 31 at Boyd’s Speedway. The second win came at Lucas Oil Speedway on May 25th.
$141,145 was the earned total from LOLMDS races. The team was 7th in final championship standings.
