Daniel Hemric in trouble at Homestead

Battery issues for Daniel Hemric at Homestead-Miami Speedway

Hemric was the lone Richard Childress Racing car in the Championship 4 battle at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The other 3 cars are all fielded by JR Motorsports.

Hemric was doing everything right. He led all 3 JR Motorsports contenders for the entirety of stage 1.

In stage 2, Hemric found himself in the 3rd position. He then started fading. Byron went on by. Hemric had fallen to 6th.

Lap 61, Daniel Hemric to pit road! #21 radio, “Up on the left side.”

Battery issues caused a loss of power on the #21. He was forced to make a green flag pit stop for a battery change.

Hemric has re-entered the race. He’s now in 36th position, 12 laps down.

Hemric fought off Cole Custer at Phoenix, grabbing the final position in the Championship 4. He grabbed the spot, by just 4 points over Custer.

His chance of winning the 2017 NASCAR Xfinity Series championship have gone out the window at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The only chance he has is catastrophic failure for all 3 JR Motorosports drivers.
