2018 Cola-Cola 600 race results from the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway
Tonight, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series takes the green flag at home. The 1.5-mile of Charlotte Motor Speedway hosts 600 mile crown jewel event.

Kyle Busch and Joey Logano will lead the field to the green flag. 100 laps in stage 1, 2, 3 and 4 will complete the 400 lap race. There’s an additional stage in this endurance event.
Green flag, Kyle Busch gets the jump on the outside.
Joey Logano fights back on the bottom into turn 3. Joey Logano clears him in turn 4 to lead lap 1. The traction compound on the outside isn’t activated until heat is built into the race track.
Lap 6, Kyle Busch powers to the inside in turn 1. He takes the lead back.
Lap 37, flat right rear tire for Austin Dillon. He drifts up toward the wall as tire shred spreads across the track. He tagged the wall the lap before.
Green, Kyle Busch gets the jump on Denny Hamlin. Outside the top 5, Martin Truex Jr finds lane three to pick up a spot or two.
Lap 50, Austin Dillon is on fire in his pit stall. The green flag is still out. Meanwhile, Kevin Harvick has climbed from the tail of the field to 6th!
18 to go in stage 1, Kevin Harvick is in the wall! He climbed from the back of the field to 4th! He entered turn 3 and the left front tire exploded. Harvick went up the hill and into the wall.
Green, Keselowski stays out. Hamlin is all over the rear bumper of Keselowski. Keselowski falls out of the top 20 in one lap!

Green, Kyle Busch has help from Truex on the outside lane. Blaney noses ahead. They trade side drafts down the back. Busch takes the lead in turn 3.
Lap 114, Byron is into the wall! He was racing hard with Bowman and Kahne laps before. The backend just stepped out on him and he tagged the outside wall. No other drivers were involved.
Green, busch pinches Blaney into turn 1, he pulls around the outside. Jimmie Johnson is around in turn 3 at the front of the field! Denny Hamlin poked his nose in on the bottom in turn 3, Johnson came down and Johnson went around.
“Be sure to thank the #11 for being such a great guy,” Jimmie Johnson radio.
Logano came into the scene hard on the brakes. Low first, Johnson came down the track and he jolted right to avoid it at the last second.
Green, Kyle Larson took a wide entry to the bottom. That was to prevent Kyle Busch from pinching him into the corner. It didn’t work. Kyle Busch powers by on the outside.
13 to go in stage 2, Kyle Busch leads Martin Truex Jr by 2 seconds. The night sky has rolled over Charlotte Motor Speedway. The track has changed, the leader has not. Ryan Blaney is slow on the track with electrical issues.

Green, Kyle Busch leads on the outside of Denny Hamlin off turn 2. McMurray came up into Stenhouse through the tri-oval. Right front to left rear contact. McMurray was sideways at the entry to the tri-oval but he saved it.
Lap 226, Gray Gaulding is around off turn 4. Kyle Busch’s two second lead is evaporated just as Denny Hamlin was beginning to reel him in. Martin Truex Jr will be sent to the tail for an uncontrolled tire. Denny Hamlin wins the race off pit road.
Green, Hamlin selects the inside line. Kyle Busch sweeps around on the outside. Larson slips around as well to take over 2nd.
Lap 259, Chris Buescher is in the wall. The caution is out.
Green, Kyle Busch jumps to the lead on the outside of Hamlin once more. Jamie McMurray is coming. He’s been working the high line, car by car, he’s reached the front.
McMurray looks to the outside of Hamlin. Hamlin loses the nose off turn 4, he drifts up the hill. They make light contact but they both continue. Move McMurray to 2nd.
Lap 272, Kyle Larson is attempting to run the line of his teammate McMurray. The left rear wheel hops going into turn 1. The back end steps out and he lightly scraps the wall with the edge of the right rear. He spins down across the banking, no damage.
“I’m sorry. I just can’t do anything. The rear end just wheel hops like it has all year,” Larson radio.
Green, Kyle Busch leads by 2 car lengths into turn 1. Ryan Blaney is on fire down the back! That engine finally expired.
Kyle Busch and Kurt Busch line up on the front row. Green, Kyle Busch leads by 2 car lengths into turn 1 once more.
Truex says he should have wrecked Chase Elliott. Johnson is upset with the setup on his race car. Tempers are hot in Charlotte.
Kasey Kahne runs 7th. This is the best run for the team all year.

Green, Kyle Busch leads on the top but Keselowski holds strong on the bottom.
70 to go, Martin Truex Jr has completely rebounded from the uncontrolled tire earlier in the event. Truex sits 3rd and he’s working on Keselowski for 2nd. Truex cuts it to the bottom, he slides in front of the #2 and confirms the position. 4 seconds up the road sits the leader of Kyle Busch.
Truex Jr is on the radio looking for insight into Kyle Busch’s line. Meanwhile, Busch is now 6 seconds up the road.
58 to go, Logano and Kahne hit the pit lane. It’s an early stop for both.
48 to go, Kyle Busch and Truex Jr hit the pit lane. Kyle Busch cycles back to the lead as Keselowski runs 2nd.
35 to go, Truex to 2nd. Kyle Busch leads by 6 seconds.
10 to go, Truex has cut the lead in half but Busch is still long gone.
Kyle Busch wins the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in a clean sweep! Only 9 cars finished on the lead lap.
Kyle Busch has just become of very first NASCAR driver to win at every track that he’s competed at. Charlotte was the last one on the list. Previously, he’s won the All-Star race but it wasn’t a points paying race. He’s just checked the final points paying event off the bucket list.
