NASCAR Cup Series qualifying results from September 21, 2018 at Richmond Raceway
Tonight, the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series took to the track for three rounds of knockout qualifying at Richmond Raceway in Virginia.
Kevin Harvick unofficially won Busch Pole Award in Friday evening’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series qualifying session at Richmond Raceway. In the first two rounds, he was absent from the top 5.
In round three, Harvick turned the fastest lap of 121.880 mph to take the top spot for Saturday night’s Federated Auto Parts 400 at the 0.75-mile short track. The race doubles as the second race in the NASCAR Playoffs Round of 16. Harvick took his 24th career pole position.
The lineup isn’t official yet. It will become official Saturday after inspection before the race.
