NASCAR All-Star Race Results: May 18, 2019

NASCAR All-Star results from Charlotte Motor Speedway

Tonight, they’ll race for $1,000,000. Charlotte Motor Speedway hosts the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series All-Star race in Charlotte, North Carolina.

There’s a new splitter installed on the front of these cars. Additionally, hood ducts are in place. Both of these elements are being tested for a possible use in the 2021 Gen 7 race car.

19 drivers are set for the green flag. Kyle Larson, William Byron, Bubba Wallace and Alex Bowman all transferred from the Monster Energy Open, they’ll start at the tail in this event.

Clint Bowyer claimed his first NASCAR Cup Series pole in over 400 races. and Kyle Busch will line up on the outside pole. Four stages of the NASCAR All-Star Race is up next…

Stage 1 – Report
NASCAR All-Star Race

Laps: 30

Green flag, Bowyer has a huge push from Kevin Harvick into turn one, the teammates are clear. Harvick looks to the outside in turn two. Harvick leads into turn three.

Lap 5, Kyle Busch is on the bumper of Kevin Harvick. They run alternate lanes in the corners.

Lap 9, Kyle Busch has a look to the inside, he can’t complete the pass.

Lap 18, Kyle Busch side drafts Harvick into turn one. He drops to the bottom and noses ahead. Busch is running wide off the corner. He’s not clear but Harvick lifts to let him in.

5 to go in stage 1, Erik Jones has a flat tire after contact with the wall. The tire comes apart and the caution is out.

Kyle Busch and the rest of the field head for the pit lane. Brad Keselowski is the only car to stay out on the race track.

Green, Bowyer is on the bumper of Keselowski into turn one. Keselowski wiggles and skates up the hill off the corner.

Bowyer leads but Busch is coming around the top. Busch pulls even. Final lap, Harvick gives a shove to Busch done the back stretch and pushes him to the lead.

Kyle Busch takes the win in stage 1!

Stage 2 – Report
NASCAR All-Star Race

Laps: 30

Green flag on stage two, Kyle Busch gets the jump on the outside with a push from Joey Logano. Clint Bowyer is completely sideways outside the top-5 but he saves it.

Lap 34, Ryan Newman is sideways through the astroturf. He drives through and comes out the outside with no damage. Newman got into the back of Bubba Wallace and it turns Newman around.

Green, Larson gives a shove to Kyle Busch. He thinks about heading to the middle but that hole closes quick. As they disconnect on the outside, Harvick takes the lead on the inside.

Larson looks to the outside of Busch off turn two. He takes that position but Logano followed Harvick on the bottom to take 2nd. Busch falls to 6th in one corner.

Harvick cruises to the win in stage two!

Stage 3 – Report
NASCAR All-Star Race

Laps: 20

Harvick leads them to the pit lane. Harvick is 8th to the pit exit. Bowyer is off first with two tires. Logano is off 2nd with four.

Green flag on stage three, Bowyer leads on the outside with a push from Brad Keselowski. Bowyer is sideways off turn two with Keseloowski on his bumper! Logano noses ahead on the bottom.

Keselowski gives another push to Bowyer down the back stretch. Bowyer is pushed to the lead once more. Logano works the bottom, he’s clear.

Harvick has a loose wheel! He’s heading to the pits under green.

Dillon cuts across the nose of Kyle Busch. Dillon is sideways, he collects Erik Jones as they both tag the wall. The caution is out. Harvick will stay on the lead lap.

Kyle Busch hits the pit lane for four new tires. Harvick took no tires, they just tightened the lugs.

Green, Keselwoski is on the bumper of Logano, they lead on the bottom. The field runs 3 wide for 5th on back.

6 to go in stage 3, Chase Elliott has climbed to 2nd. Harvick is flying through the field, he’s inside the top-10.

Joey Logano takes the win in stage 3!

Stage 4 – Report
NASCAR All-Star Race

Laps: 15

Logano, Elliott, Jones and Busch stay out. Kyle Busch coasted 16 seconds behind the leaders for the entirety of stage three. Two tires for Hamlin, Kurt Busch and Blaney. Truex is the first car with four tires.

Green flag on stage four, Logano and Elliott run even into turn one. Elliott pinches him off turn two.

Kyle Busch is coming. He takes side drafts and takes the lead from Chase Elliott.

Lap 76, they run four wide mid-pack through the tri-oval. Lap 75, Hamlin jumps on the brakes and Blaney gets into the back on him, Hamlin is around in turn three. The caution is out. Hamlin was coming to the pits with a flat tire.

Green, Logano pushes Elliott to the lead on the bottom. Busch runs wide in turn one. Larson runs 3 wide through the middle. Harvick is on the bumper of Larson off turn two, he pushes Larson to the lead!

Erik Jones is in the wall with a flat tire. He was running 5th. The caution is out.

Logano and Blaney head to the pits for four tires.

Green, Larson and Busch run even into turn one. Busch is clear on the bottom in the middle of the corner. Larson crosses under him off the corner. Larson leads into turn three.

10 to go

10 to go, Harvick is on the bumper of Larson for the race lead. Kyle Busch is just behind them in 3rd. Busch side drafts Harvick into turn one and drops to the bottom to complete the pass.

7 to go, Kyle Busch runs wide off turn four. Busch bounces off the wall! Busch drops a spot, no caution.

3 to go, Larson leads Harvick by .5 seconds.

Final lap, Harvick closes within a car length into turn one. Harvick runs wide in turn three.

Kyle Larson wins the NASCAR All-Star Race!

Bowyer is in the wall in turn three after the race after contact with Ryan Newman. Those drivers had already taken the checkered flag and were coming to the pit lane.

As Kyle Larson celebrates with burnouts on the front stretch, there’s a fight on pit road. Clint Bowyer is throwing punch after punch to Newman.
