Charlotte Motor Speedway race results for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series

Tonight, Charlotte Motor Speedway hosts two NASCAR races. First up, it’s the Monster Energy Open. The 24 car field has yet to qualify for the NASCAR All-Star race later tonight.

NASCAR All-Star Race: Menu

15 drivers have already qualified for the NASCAR All-Star race later tonight. These drivers have not.

Each stage winner of this race will transfer into tonight’s NASCAR All-Star event. Additionally, one more will start at the tail from the fan vote.

Daniel Hemric and Michael McDowell lead them to the starting line. Three stages of racing are up next…

Stage 1
Monster Energy Open

Laps: 20

Green, Hemric is clear before turn one from the outside lane. He drops to the bottom in turn one. Paul Menard brushes the wall in turn three.

Daniel Suarez has found lane three. He picks two cars off at once and moves to 6th.

Lap 15, there’s a car smoking off turn two with a blown engine. BJ McLeod is down for the night and the caution is out.

This stage will not finish under caution. They’ll run it into NASCAR overtime to complete stage one. Hemric and Larson stay out, just about everyone else heads to the pit lane!

Green, Bubba Wallace pushes Kyle Larson into turn one. Wallacw looks under Larson off turn two! They run side by side for the lead. They make contact!

Final lap, Bubba Wallace runs Larson wide off turn four! Byron is coming quick with four new tires! Wallace and Byron bang fenders coming to the line.

William Byron wins stage 1 by inches!

Stage 2
Monster Energy Open

Laps: 20

Bubba Wallace, Kyle Larson and others head for the pit lane. Bowman and Suarez lead them to the restart.

Green, DiBenedetto gives a huge shove to Suarez as they lead on the bottom lane. They run four wide behind them.

Lap 22, Bowman has a run off turn two. He’s there and clear off turn two.

7 to go in stage two, Daniel Suarez is on the bumper of Alex Bowman. They’ve run away from Ryan Preece.

2 to go, Hemric is working on 3rd from Preece. He slides in front of him off turn four but he’s not clear. Hemric runs them both in the wall.

Preece runs him down and spins him across the infield grass. The caution is out and both cars have heavy damage.

“I’ve had enough of it,” Hemric radio.

Alex Bowman stays out. Everyone else heads for the pit lane!

Green, Suarez gives a huge push to Bubba Wallace. Bowman has no help on the bottom. Wallace leads. Suarez looks to the top, he’s clear.

Final lap, Wallace fights back on the bottom into turn one! Wallace is clear off turn two and he heads to the bottom in turn three. Suarez heads to the top into turn three.

Suarez has a huge run off turn four. Wallace throws a block! Wallace runs him through the grass and Suarez is around and through the grass.

Bubba Wallace takes the win in stage two!

Stage 3
Monster Energy Open

Laps: 10

Green flag on stage three, Larson leads on the bottom. Stenhouse runs three wide on the apron in the middle of turns 1-2. Ty Dillon comes out with the lead.

7 to go, Larson is on the bumper of Ty Dillon for the lead.

5 to go, Larson side drafts Ty Dillon into turn one. He looks to the inside and he’s clear off turn two.

Kyle Larson takes the win in the final stage of the Monster Energy Open! Alex Bowman wins the fan vote.
