Ryan Newman on the incident with Clint Bowyer
“The No. 14 chopped me down the front-straight away earlier in the race. If I wouldn’t have hit the brakes I would have turned him around,” Ryan Newman told FOX Sports after the race.
“Then, after the race I just went up and chopped him in the back to let him know I didn’t appreciate the way he raced me.”
“Then, he body slammed me. I hit him back a little bit down the back straight-away. Then, he just cut across my nose in turn three.”
“So, it doesn’t take much of a man to try and fight somebody with a helmet on. I think he should be embarrassed of himself.”
Clint Bowyer on the fight with Ryan Newman
“It was damn sure a surprise fight. I don’t know what the hell his beef was,” Clint Bowyer said after the race.
“I thought he was a lap down. Our day was over. We lost track position there and got sideways, crossed up. Basically just buying time there to see if something was going to happen there at the end.”
“They got four wide off of four. Hell, I thought he was a lap down. A checked up and he ran into my left rear. That’s the last I saw of him.”
“After the race, he comes up and runs into my back, turns me all around. I pull up next to him and he dumps me into four.”
“Where I come from, you get poked in the nose for that. That’s what he got.”
