The top 20 have been inverted based on their results from Sunday’s race. William Byron and Alex Bowman set the front row for Thursday nights event.

Charlotte
Stage 1 – Report

Laps: 55 (1-55)

Green flag, Byron leads with a jump on the outside. Matt DiBenedetto pushes him hard into turn one.

DiBenedetto pulls out of line down the back stretch. Byron pulls down to block but DiBenedetto is already there. They run the line on the apron down the back. With a narrow entry into turn one, DiBenedetto leads.

Back crash behind them! Joey Gase and Garrett Smithley both slam the wall as they were in a four wide situation into turn three. The caution is out.

Green, DiBenedetto and Byron run even into turn one. 3 laps later, they remain side by side at the front! They run just inches apart.

Lap 12, Byron finally clears him on the inside back into turn one.

Competition caution

Lap 21, the competition caution is out.

Most of the field heads for the pit lane. Joey Logano and three others stay out. Byron and DiBenedetto are first to the pit exit.

Pit Penalty: Denny Hamlin and Clint Bowyer have been caught speeding.

Corey LaJoie hit Byron in the right side door as he left his stall. Byron returns to the pit lane to evaluate damage.

Green, Logano leads into turn one with a push from Blaney.

Rain delay

Lap 29, Matt Kenseth has spun off turn four and the caution is out. NASCAR pulls them down the pit lane to wait out the rain.

Green flag, Joey Logano leads.

10 to go in stage 1, Logano leads DiBenedetto by 1 second.

Stage 2 – Report

Laps: 60 (56-115)

The field hits the pit lane. Logano and Blaney are first to the race to the pit exit.

Green flag on stage two, Joey and Blaney run near even into turn one. Harvick is giving a huge shove to Logano.

Stenhouse moves to lane four and takes Jones, Almirola and Busch four wide in turn one for 11th. Busch and Almirola tangle as Busch turns into the corner. Kyle Busch has a flat tire, no caution.

Lap 65, Harvick looks to the inside of Logano into turn one and Harvick moves to the lead.

Lap 73, Quin Houff tags the wall after Brennan Poole got loose underneath him and the caution is out.

Pit stops

Kevin Harvick and others head for the pit lane. Erik Jones is off first with two tires. Jones will restart 15th. Bowman and Logano set the front row.

Green, Bowman is clear into turn one.

20 to go in stage two, Bowman continues to lead. Harvick is flying through the field after taking four tires on the last stop. He’s cracked the top 10.

17 to go in stage two, Harvick to 5th. He’s driving by them like they are on the brakes.

Stage 3 – Report

Laps: 93 (116-208)

The field heads for the pit lane. Bowman and Logano win the race to the pit exit.

Green flag on stage three, Blaney is locked on the bumper of Logano and Harvick is locked on the bumper of Bowman into turn one. Bowman holds the lead into turn three.

84 to go, Harvick has climbed to the bumper of Bowman for the lead. Harvick looks to the outside in turn three, clear and new leader.

73 to go, Alex Bowman has tagged the wall! He got loose off turn four and caught the wall heavy. He was running 2nd but he’s now on the pit lane under green.

64 to go, Timmy Hill has spun and the caution is out.

Pit stops

The field hits the pit lane for what could be the final time. Harvick and Hamlin are first to the pit exit.

Pit penalty: Erik Jones has been hit with a penalty for pitting outside of the box.

Green, Harvick leads into turn one.

54 to go, chase Elliott looks inside of Blaney for 2nd into turn one. Harvick now leads Elliott by 0.5 seconds.

44 to go, Bubba Wallace gets loose off turn two and slaps the wall. No caution and he heads to the pit lane under green.

Fuel race?

Many teams think it will be close on fuel to the end of the race. Some are in fuel saving mode.

30 to go, Harvick leads Elliott by 0.3 seconds. Blaney is closing on both of them.

28 to go, Harvick bobbles off turn two and lifts off the throttle to avoid the wall. Chase Elliott drives by on the inside to take the lead.

23 to go, Blaney drives by Harvick to take over 2nd. Harvick is fighting handling issues.

10 to go, Elliott leads Blaney by 1.5 seconds.

5 to go, Elliott leads Blaney by 2 seconds.
