Indianapolis Motor Speedway practice results for the Indy 500; Opening practice round times
On Wednesday, the NTT Indycar Series took to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval for the first time. It’s the first round of six practice sessions over the next week and a half.

The opening round of practice is a 6 and half hour session. No incidents occurred.
James Hinchcliffe was quickest in Indianapolis 500 practice on Wednesday. He topped the charts with a time of 40.0844 and an average speedway of 224.536.
“It’s always nice rolling off the truck here with a car that’s got good pace,” Hinchcliffe told NBC Sports. “It’s a huge credit to everyone at Andretti Autosport. They’ve got a bunch of quick cars.
