Today, it’s race three in the dirt late model mini-series. The Xtreme DIRTcar Series has unloaded at Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, Georgia. It’s a 3/8-mile dirt track.

Kyle Strickler knocked the wall and knocked the rear spoiler off while running 2nd in heat two. He’ll be buried in the field at the start of the main, with a backup car. Strickler is the Drydene Xtreme Series point leader.
A unique trophy and a check for $5,000 is on the line. As for the trophy, it’s made out of an mini fuel drum.

Main Event
Report
Green flag, Garrett Smith slides through turn one and runs Brown wide in the process. Smith checks out off turn two.
Lap 3, they run three wide for 2nd but Brown holds the spot. Trent Ivey pulls into the pit area, no caution.
Lap 7, Garrett Smith leads as he runs the middle to high side of the track. Michael Brown is glued to the inside wall and closing on the leader. The track has some dark spots, but they have to go all the way to the inside wall to find it.
Lap 9, Michael Brown has a run on Smith off turn four. He pulls near even but Smith holds him off into turn one.
Lap 11, Smith is forced to the bottom as he deals with lap traffic. As he clears the lap cars, Smith stays on the bottom and takes the lane away from Brown.
Lap 15, Tim Vance is slow and the caution is out.
Green flag, they run side by side for the lead. Kyle Strickler slams the wall into turn three! The point leader is out of the race! That’s the second car he’s lost today.
Green, Smith leads. Two cars tangle and the caution is back out.
Green, Smith leads. Most of the field drops to the inside lane. Madden is working the outside for 4th but he’s going backwards.
Halfway
Lap 20, Smith is slowing. Michael Brown slides him for the lead into turn three! Smith drops to 4th in a single lap, the tires fell off or something broke.
Lap 30, Brown is driving away from the field. This one could be over.
2 to go, Garrett Smith is slow and the caution is out!
Green, Brown leads Collins into turn one. Madden drives by Wilson on the outside for 3rd.
Final lap, Brown is driving away. Michael Brown wins at Lavonia Speedway!
