NASCAR practice results from Daytona International Speedway
Today, the NASCAR Cup Series returns to the 2.5-mile oval. Two rounds of practice are on deck for Daytona International Speedway.

Alex Bowman had engine issues in his duel. The team has since discovered a coil that may have been the issue. As of now, the team intends to keep it’s Daytona 500 pole.
Brad Keselowski, Kaz Grala, William Byron, Anthony Alfredo, Cole Custer and Ross Chastain have all gone to backups cars and will make their debut in this session.
Weather is in the area. There’s a line up cars trying to get laps in early on in this session.

Duration: 50 minutes
3 minutes in, the rain has begun to fall. 27 cars have gotten at least one lap in. One of those include Alex Bowman.
Track officials are attempting to dry off the surface. However, a much larger rain cloud is on the way.
20 minutes remain in the session, the rain is now falling much harder from a storm cell spanning the width of Florida. This session is a wash.
Brad Keselowski is quickest of the cars that turned a lap.
Teams are scheduled to return to the track for a second round of practice in a few hours.
