New short track series has yet to reveal their new car; However, the car could be on track this weekend with a well known driver
SRX is a brand new short track racing series that will debut in June. The Superstar Racing Experience is being led by Ray Evernham and Tony Stewart.
The series will see six races, all run on Saturday nights. The tracks vary from half-mile asphalt tracks to dirt tracks. All of the events will be shown LIVE via CBS.
We’re now just a few months away from the green flag but SRX has yet to share of a photo of their full car. Today, Evernham has hinted at much more than a tease of the new car…
Moments ago, Ray Evernham stated via social media, “How about a full car, on track making laps in 7 days with a well known test driver and all around great guy? A guy that’s just gotta race. How about SRX Racing gives you exclusive video?”
SRX responded from their official account just seconds later, “Wait wasn’t that supposed to be a surprise! Let’s Race!”
According to the man himself, the car will be on track early next week. As of now, the track remains a mystery.
Update: The test is confirmed for Monday.
Last week, it was announced that Ilmor Engineering will supply the engines for the new car. They will be powered by the Ilmor 396 which is a V8 engine that produces 700hp and 530 ft-lb torque.
SRX Drivers: Tony Stewart, Tony Kanaan, Mark Webber, Willy T Ribbs, Paul Tracy, Helio Castroneves, Bobby LaBonte, Bill Elliott, Ernie Fancis Jr, Marco Andretti and Michael Waltrip.
