“I 100% wrecked him on purpose.”
On Sunday, NASCAR dropped the green flag on Friday’s postponed NASCAR Xfinity Series race. The small but mighty half-mile of Martinsville Speedway is known to bring out the tempers.

With 75 laps to go, Joe Graf Jr was racing with Blaine Perkins on his outside. As they ran side by side, Gaulding was looking for a way by both of them.
Gaulding then locked onto the rear bumper of Joe Graf Jr, shoving him into the corner. Graf Jr spun and collected Blaine Perkins. Both cars made contact with the wall.
Joe Graf Jr held onto that memory for 75 short laps. When the race ended, he located Gray Gaulding. The two drivers got into an altercation and both were on the ground.
NASCAR officials quickly came to the scene. Multiple official worked to pull the two drivers off each other.
“I 100% wrecked him on purpose.” Gaulding stated via Sirius XM NASCAR Radio after the race.
Gaulding added, “watching him drive out there is hilarious. I’m very, very happy to be the one who wrecked him.”
Joe Graf Jr commented via social media on the statement above, “Jeez, listening to Gray talk on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio he talks like he is Dale Earnhardt. Gray is 38th in points and has no top 20 finishes no lead lap finishes. And I am in his way…lol”
