Kyle Busch still doesn’t like two-faced NASCAR driver Joey Logano (Video)

Kyle Busch on Logano: “He flips the asshole switch on the back of his head.”

In 2017 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Kyle Busch took a casual stole down pit lane. He locked his red eyes on Joey Logano and knocked him right in the face!

No penalties were issued to either driver following the incident.

This week, Kyle Busch reflects on his conflict with Joey Logano. He also provided further detail on when the conflict started.

Kyle Busch on the incident with Joey Logano

“It was the last lap of the race. I’d had run Joey down from a ways back. We’re side by side and his teammate Brad Keselowski is in front of him but he’s down a cylinder. I inch in front of Joey just a little bit,” Busch reflects on his side of the incident with ‘I Am Athlete’ podcast.

“Joey wants to pin me behind Brad so I don’t pass him. This is for 3rd place,” Busch says noting that the bold moves weren’t even for the race win.

Busch doesn’t let Logano box him in behind Keselowski. Instead, Busch turns left, doors Busch down the backstretch to make room for a three wide entry to turn three.

“We both enter the corner just fine. I left him room but I can hear him throttle up in the middle of the corner, back to wide open throttle. Just drilled me in the door. I spun onto the pit lane and just rolled passed the start/finish line.”

Busch then reflected on his reaction following the on-track contact.

“These NASCAR fights are wimp fights, right? Then, somebody gets in and pulls them apart,” Kyle Busch says of a typical NASCAR fight.

“I never said anything on the radio, to my team or nothing. I got out of my car, marched my happy ass down pit road, turned right in to where he was and I just pulled it back and let her rip.”

Busch explained, “I hit him right across the face. Of course, I got the one hit in and the whole rest of the fight was just all these dudes pulling us apart. I come up bleeding, I must have hit myself on the front of the car or something.”

“NASCAR then got us together and took us into the hauler before the next race happened. During that week, Logano actually called me to apologize. I was like, ‘Fuck you.’ “

“I told him, ‘I want you to bring your data into this NASCAR meeting and we’ll fucking talk about it.’ We have data in these cars that tell you steering, brake and gas so you know what the driver’s doing.”

“So, he brought it in there. Sure enough, there it was. Back wide open throttle in the middle of the corner.”

Kyle Busch still doesn’t like Logano

“Joey Logano’s number one,” Kyle Busch explained of his hate list.

“The problem with Joey is he’s two-faced,” Busch clarified.

“People know I’m an asshole. I might be an asshole on the race track, which I’m really not. But Logano, he will come in here and he’s laughing, go with the flow, super nice guy. Does great for charity, everything like that.”

“You put him on the race track, when he puts his helmet on, he flips the asshole switch on the back of his head. To me, I hate two-faced guys. That drives me absolutely nuts. If you’re going to be a nice guy, be a nice guy on the race track as well. You know what I mean?”

“Then his teammate, Brad Keselowski, we always butt heads. Brad and I have always, for years, run into each other.”

Busch and Logano were teammates at Joe Gibbs Racing

Back in 2012, before Logano made the move to Team Penske, he raced out of the same stable at Kyle Busch.

“Joey, he was at Joe Gibbs Racing back in his early days — when he was a rookie — for three years. He only won one race in three years,” Busch explained.

“There was a meeting between us drivers and Joe and JD [Gibbs] and Coy [Gibbs]. The guys that were running the business. They were like, ‘Well, we don’t know what we are going to do with Joey, but it’s not looking good. Might have to get rid of him.’ ”

“I was like, ‘Man, I don’t think so. It’s not time yet.’ I was vouching for Joey. Then fast forward, that happened. You don’t just do that to a guy that had your back, back in the day.”
