The field is split into two groups for round one. The top 6 drivers in each group advance into round two:

The 6 minute run for pole is up next. Six drivers are set to run in the final round of knockout qualifying.
Power is the first car on the track in the final round. He’s elected for used softer red tires. Other drivers like Newgarden are opting for sticker blacks, the harder tires. Some drivers will pit and try both compounds.
1 minute remains, Herta is fastest so far. He’s on softer red tires.
Newgarden has been running since the beginning of the session, without a pit stop. He gets faster every lap as the hard compound gets up to speed.
Seconds remain, Newgarden jumps to the top of the board! Josef Newgarden will start from the pole position at Road America!
