Mid-Ohio race results for the Indycar Series
Today, the NTT Indycar Series unloads in Lexington, Ohio. The 2.258-mi road course of the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is set for the Honda Indy 200.

Race Report
Green flag, Newgarden is clear at the launch as Herta holds 2nd. They run three wide for 3rd but Dixon lifts.
Ryan Hunter-Reay checks up out of turn one and James Hinchcliffe gets into the back of him. As they both spin, Felix Rosenqvist is collected. The caution is out on lap 1.
Green, Newgarden leads Herta. Power and Dixon run side by side for 4th, contact!
Power spins and he throws a smoke cloud as he tries to keep it fired. Ed Jones comes over the hill and he can’t find Power in the smoke cloud. They make nose to nose contact, heavy damage for Jones and Power. The caution is out yet again.
Green, Newgarden leads Herta and Ericsson.
Lap 10, Romain Grosjean looks to the inside of Bourdais for 9th. Bourdais throws a huge block, Grosjean cuts to his outside but he gets too high. In the dirt and marbles, Grosjean is nearly sent off the track. He loses two spots in all that.
Penalty: Bourdais has been handed a penalty for blocking. He’s forced to give up the position.
Lap 25, Newgarden leads Herta by 2.4 seconds.
Pit cycle
Lap 31, Newgarden pits from the lead. Ericsson, Palou and Rahal follow.
Lap 32, Herta hits the pit lane. 25 second stop for Herta as the fuel hose gets stuck in the car. Harta falls to 6th on the track. Newgarden cycles back to the lead as Ericsson runs 2nd, 8 seconds back.
Lap 53, Newgarden hits the pit lane for the final time. Herta is handed the lead temporarily.
As Herta hits the pit lane, he stalls it leaving the pit lane and he loses more time on the pit lane.
Lap 60, Newgarden leads Ericsson by 6.8 seconds.

9 to go, Ericsson has trimmed the gap as Newgarden leads by just 3.5 seconds. The leader is approaching lap traffic.
5 to go, Ericsson continues to close as the gap is only 2.5 seconds to Newgarden.
3 to go, Ericsson is the fastest car on the track and the gap is just 2.2 seconds.
2 to go, Newgarden has a string of four lap car just ahead. Ericsson trails by just 1.4 seconds! We have a race!
Final lap, Ericsson has closed to 0.7 seconds!
Josef Newgarden holds him off to win at Mid-Ohio!
