At the start of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race, rain began to fall lightly on the speedway. By lap 6, the track was too wet for racing.

Race leader Kyle Busch spun and smacked the wall, bringing his day to an early end. 2nd place runner Martin Truex Jr also tagged the wall. Denny Hamlin spun behind them and Alex Bowman made light contact with Hamlin’s spinning car.

After the incident, Kyle Busch drove to the bumper of the pace car and pushed on the rear bumper. The bumper crinkled as he showed frustration with NASCAR.

After the crash, Busch was vocal. He stated, “It never should have went green to begin with. It kept getting worse and worse from lap to lap. The lap before, I went into turn one and it shoved the nose really bad. I was able to keep it under control, it wasn’t wet enough.”

On Monday, NASCAR started that they would review the incident. They also announced that the incident with the pace car would be discussed.
