NASCAR crew member ejected ahead of the race at Atlanta Motor Speedway
Today, the NASCAR Cup Series unloads at Atlanta Motor Speedway. It’s the first race on the reconfigured 1.54-mile track.

On track activity was rained out on Friday. Due to that, Saturday’s qualifying session was canceled and replaced with a practice session.
Ahead of today’s race, the team rolled through inspection. We’ve seen just one issue.

NASCAR Inspection Rules
1 Inspection failure: No penalty, the team gets to go to the back of the inspection line and try again.
2 inspection failures: If a team fails twice, NASCAR will eject a crew member and they drop to the rear.
3 inspection failures: All of the above. They’ll also serve a pass-through penalty at the start of the race.
4 inspection failures: All of the above in addition to an L1 penalty.
