NASCAR issues fine and point penalty after Indianapolis

NASCAR Truck Series team found with shifter boot violation

Last weekend, NASCAR raced in Indianapolis, Indiana. The NASCAR Truck Series took the green on the 5/8-mile of Indianapolis Raceway Park.

Ahead of qualifying, all teams must clear inspection. During inspection, NASCAR discovered a violation on the MBM Motorsports truck.

The truck is driven by Jonathan Shafer.

The violation is related to the shifter boot of the truck. NASCAR has issued a $5,000 fine. They have also taken away 25 driver and 25 owner points.

Penalty: Team has been fined $5,000 and assessed with the loss of 25 driver points and 25 owner points. NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series.

No other penalties were announced.
