Kyle Busch adds detail to his 2023 ride search
Since 2008, Kyle Busch has driven for Joe Gibbs Racing. He’s a two time NASCAR Cup Series champion claiming the title in 2015 and again in 2019.
However, his contract with Joe Gibbs Racing is set to expire at the end of the 2022 season. At the same time, MARS Incorporated has announced their NASCAR sponsorship will also conclude at the end of 2022.
Joe Gibbs Racing and Toyota Racing Development has expressed interest in keeping Kyle Busch at JGR. Yet, no deal is signed, as of yet.
Several weeks ago, it was announced that JGR had reached out to other teams to help with the sponsorship search. That an almost unheard of tactic but shows the dedication from JGR to keep Ky. Busch in their stable.
However, Kyle Busch is preparing for other alternatives at the same time. For the first time, the driver has admitted to having conversation with other NASCAR teams regarding 2023…

Kyle Busch says he’s talking to other NASCAR teams
“It doesn’t matter how soon or how late it gets done,” Kyle Busch told Bob Pockrass.
“Until there’s an announcement that somebody else is driving the No. 18 car, then I feel like I still have a seat.”
Busch was asked if he’s had talks with other teams.
“The short answer is yes.”
Kyle Busch added, “Anything’s possible, there’s all kinds of things that could play out. It’s just a matter of what does.”
