Over 20 years ago, Dale Earnhardt Sr’s career was cut short as he lost his life in a crash at Daytona International Speedway. However, he left a legacy that lives to this day.
After Earnhardt’s death, Kevin Harvick filled the seat in the No. 29 car (2.9 car). Harvick ran that number until he left the team at the end of the 2013 season.
In 2014, RCR brought back the No. 3 car in the NASCAR Cup Series for the first time since Earnhardt’s death. Austin Dillon, the grandson of Richard Chidlress has piloted the machine ever since.
At the end of the 2022 season, Kyle Busch’s contract with Joe Gibbs Racing will expire. A lack of sponsorship could force the driver out of the team he’s driven for the team in the last 15 seasons.
It hasn’t been confirmed yet. However, it appears that Kyle Busch will be driving for Richard Childress Racing in 2023. That announcement is rumored for Tuesday.
