Dale Jr comments on Kyle Busch: If he wins more championships, all-time great

More championships are the only thing keeping Kyle Busch out of the all-time greatest conversation

Kyle Busch is the only NASCAR driver that has swept all 3 NASCAR races in a single weekend.

“He’s sort of embracing the haters. I think he’s trying to show those guys that as long as he’s winning, he don’t care.”

“Regardless of whether you like him, or not. Regardless of whether you like a driver, or not. When they do something amazing, or historic. You have to tip the cap. Kyle’s an excellent racer.”

Kyle Larson spoke on Kyle Bush after his 3rd Bristol win of the weekend, “Love him or hate him I feel he is the most all around talented driver I will ever witness in my lifetime. Congratulations.”

Dale Jr continued, “Kyle Busch would be considered by many people to be the greatest racecar driver in the history of the sport. If and when he wins a few more championships. I think that’s the only thing that’s not allowed him to creep into that conversation yet.”

“Maybe the media thinks that Jimmie, my dad… There’s a lot of people that would say David Pearson might be the best racecar driver, ever. Kyle’s definitely getting in this conversation. Particularly, with weekends like this. If he goes on and wins a championship, or two, or three more championships before he hangs it up. I mean, he’s going to be a contender for the championship, for the next several years.”

“And he could be one of those guys that sort of excels beyond 42. Which is the age that most drivers sorta nose off. As much as he races, he’s racing Super Lates, trucks and xfinity. He’s all over the place trying to compete, like Kyle Larson. He could be a guy that races beyond that milestone where guys sorta trend off or retire.”

“Particularly, if he’s losing money on his truck team. As Brad Keselowski eluded to. Kyle will need to race for quite awhile.”

Dale Earnhardt Jr concluded, “People talk about greatest racecar drivers in the sport. You don’t often here Kyle’s name. What’s the one thing that would put him in that conversation? Probably another championship. I think he’s obviously won enough races, to be in that conversation.”

Kyle Busch has won 40 races. He sits 17th on the all-time NASCAR wins list.
