In Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race, Anthony Alfredo lost a wheel following a pit stop. The wheel rolled to a stop just off turn four. It sat against the outside wall for several laps, obstructed from the view of the tower.

NASCAR eventually dropped the yellow flag for the tire. The caution flipped the race upside down and it’s also brought a big penalty to Anthony Alfredo’s team.

Additionally, Austin Dillon’s car was one of two taken to the NASCAR R&D Center for a more detailed inspection. The team has been found in violation of section 14.6.1 A&B: Underwing Assembly Mounting & Underwing Stay Assembly Hardware.

Crew chief (Keith Rodden) has been fined $75,000 and he’s suspended for the next two races. The No. 3 team has been docked 60 owner points, 60 driver points and 5 playoff points.
